In the US, when we want to add ”cycling amenities”, we somehow always think of fast suburban sports commuters in Lycra & helmets who want showers.

If we had better land use & transit, we could bike casually & comfortably to work as Europeans do, in high heels or dress shoes. https://twitter.com/mobimaw/status/1293985822199382019
Rather than adding showers to every destination, we need denser nodes & corridors, protected bike lanes to get to them, & great transit that will take us between cities & suburbs.
And the bikes we should be promoting are simple, upright, easy to mount & dismount bicycles that can carry 1-2 people, groceries, work bag, etc.

For the sake of equity, these are cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, & use no energy other than your legs. https://twitter.com/erinriediger/status/1293969052466057216?s=20
