I used to post on Instagram often, pretty much daily, and got a ton of follows and likes.
I post much less now, the photos are generally better but I get less likes and less follows.
Algorithms don& #39;t care about quality, they prioritise a constant churn of content.

Any system that runs on algorithms stifles creativity.
Platforms like Instagram are an oiled rope, encouraging users to climb as fast and as hard as they can.
By posting constantly, feeding the machine, you can climb but you& #39;ll slide back down if you become a slower creator.

You are better off posting one mediocre photo every day than one good one a week.
This is the reality of systems that reward those who provide maximum content (for free) over those who passively engage.
You are wholly replaceable and will be once you get tired.

Quality does make a difference, but to succeed you& #39;ll have to match the high level output first and foremost.
It& #39;s why you see tiny accounts getting big likes and big accounts getting minimal likes.
One is feeding the algorithm and one has slowed their climb.

Burnout on social media is real, mainly because to grow you have to work really really hard to get them there (although many do use mass follow/unfollow to boost their stats).
My advice is know this and only give what you can. Enjoy the process, focus on what makes you happy.

The people who use these platforms will support you and are often wonderful communities, but the platforms themselves don& #39;t see you at all. You& #39;re an insignificant stat.
They aren& #39;t thinking about your mental health, or your energy levels. They just want more. Remember that.

Take breaks when you need them, prioritise self care and well being
In a world of algorithms they will never ever encourage you to rest.
You can achieve wonderful things via social media. Meet amazing humans, maybe even land dream jobs! Just focus on being kind to yourself too.
