For those concerned about bogus self employment, I'm going to do a little thread on the tweet below.

The former Minister accepts and concedes that there is no legislation which allows the dept. to make insurability of employment decisions on groups and classes of workers. > https://twitter.com/williamhboney1/status/1293998988304306176
Ireland has no legislation which allows class actions such as the labeling of workers as self employed by group or by class.

Amazingly, the Minister also accepts and concedes that despite no legislation to allow such class actions, the Department does label groups and >
classes of workers as self-employed. This is wholly unlawful.

The Minister claims that this unlawful labeling is done with the consent of the employer and the workers. Again this is entirely untrue.

The department is not labeling workers for a single employer as self-employed >
the department is labeling workers as self employed across entire sectors and industries.

At no time have workers consented to or been a part of this unlawful decision making process which is confirmed in writing by the Revenue Commissioners who spent more than 6 years >
negotiating one of these self-employed 'deals' with employer representatives for an entire industry.

Thousands of workers are labeled as self employed unlawfully by the department. There is no involvement from workers nor is there any way for a worker to overturn their false >
status as self employed and as class actions are unlawful in Ireland, no group of workers are able to overturn the unlawful class action to make them self-employed in the first instance.
