I’ve been trying to brush up on some ICD-10 codes in an attempt to b e proactive between patients.

These are the standardised codes used internationally to classify health related problems and disease.

Below are some of the crazier sports related ones.
First one must have happened on a game show.

W58.60 - Bitten or struck by crocodile or alligator, industrial and construction area, while engaged in sports activity.
Astronaut ping pong on the International Space Station is all I can think of.

X52.00- Prolonged stay in weightless environment, home, while engaged in sports activity.
Next time you fall asleep with your hotdog at the cricket remember this has probably been used before.

X35.34- Victim of volcanic eruption, sports and athletics area, while resting, sleeping, eating or engaging in other vital activities.
Yeah… Ummm… I don’t know about this one.

V17.34- Pedal cyclist injured in collision with fixed or stationary object, while climbing on or off his/her bicycle, while resting, sleeping, eating or engaging in other vital activities.

Like how??
