I bought a dishwasher(currys own brand) back in april, it broke by may. I called to have it fixed and there were two faults that needed extra parts. I waited weeks. No parts.
After 31 days of waiting I stated that I am entitled to a replacement or refund if it is not a 'prompt repair' as per my consumer rights. This whole process took over thirty phone calls, two phones in order to have tech repair and customer service speak to EACHOTHER
Because both sides were directing me to the other. I finally get my exchange number and have the item collected on the 26th of july. A refund should be 14 working days later. Today marks 16 working days. I called this morning to chase it up. Heres why I'm now contacting the
Ombusman: I spoke to Kelly at around 10:35 this morning. When she answered she sounded like she was in the bathroom, complete with straining sounds. THEN while talking to her I have difficulty understanding her, she starts slurring her words!!
I think, is this woman pissed so I put her on loud speaker to show my partner, and his face was priceless, he even thought I had called the wrong number and a stranger was playing along! While I'm on the phone to this drunk woman I get an email from currys.
The email states that THEY HAVE JUST RECIEVED MY APPLIANCE AND A REFUND WILL TAKE 14 WORKING DAYS. Kelly says she will call me back. Presumably wanting to finish her morning shit she so kindly shared with me. At this point I'm fuming. She calls back to tell me

Cant tell me how long my refund will take as it's only just been logged. She claims shes done everything she can. I tell her I doubt that considering shes slurring her words and sounds like shes in a bathroom. Suddenly all slurring disappears and the age old white girl wine talk
Comes out ' I AM NOT DRUNK' - no mention of her not taking a shit at the time. She hangs up on me. I call back and speak to a lovely chap who tells me the refund should be there in 5 working days (21 working days since my APPLIANCE was actually received.
I doubt I'll have the refund then and I'll be adding to this thread. Long and short of it, buy your appliances somewhere else, I reckon currys are tanking, keeping as much money as possible in the lead up to it.
