I spent most of my life turning my nose up at Pakistan Independence Day, it always seemed pointless and meaningless. I’ve never given a shit about Indian Independence Day.

As I’ve grown up though, I do feel envious of what Pakistanis have. A sense of belonging.
When I go to India it does feel somewhat like home, as there will always be that primal connection. But it’s not *really* home. I couldn’t give a shit about the flag and I feel no sense of patriotism whatsoever. Much of that has to do with the political situation, but still.
We’re effectively nomads, with no real connection anywhere.

It must be nice to feel part of something bigger than yourself or your family - other than your religion.

The best I’ve got is United.
