In my first AS Level exam in history, I left the exam hall prematurely after having an anxiety/panic attack. I left the paper half-done and got a C. It meant so much to me, I overwhelmed myself and blanked in the exam hall...
Anxiety has continued to shape my academic life ever since, and has made it the most stressful process.
I re-sat the exam the following January and got an A, 12 points off the highest mark granted in the country...

Had my marks been predicted by some silly algorithm, I probably wouldnât have got into my chosen uni to study history at UG/PG levels...
All I can say is:
1) Fight it. Fight it hard. You shouldnât have to, but youâve got to. Raise your voice, aspirations, and pressure those privileged bigots in Parliament.

2) know your self worth. Never equate your self worth with academic success. Itâs a broken system, and doesnât adequately reflect your intelligence or place in the world. It doesnât define who you are or who youâll be. I wish Iâd known that earlier
3) Your collective circumstances are not the same as your predecessors. Your individual circumstances are not the same as your peers. You are an individual with unique pressures, problems, priorities and concerns. Go easy on yourself. There is no set precedent.
