I don’t think some North Americans quite realise how many cheap book options they have compared to Intl ppl

For example, a hardback book in Australia minimum cost maybe $35, could easily cost $50. And we have pubs here to make it ~relatively~ cheaper. In Dublin the paperbacks I bought were 30 euro, so 35USD. The hardbacks were like 50 euro
Just don’t think you can have a consumerism on BT / spend what you want convo without acknowledging that it can be VERY alienating to see ppl being able to buy lots of books cheaply
