Fume about Everton lack of transfer activity so far. Couple of couple of important points in this thread to remember as to why we have done anything yet:

1. The season hasn’t finished yet. Numerous top players are still either involved in European competition or on holiday

2. We are really unattractive to top players. So for example if your Hojberg, you could join us finishing 12th, with no European football or Spurs who play Europe next year and were CL finalists in last 2 years. Same with Gabriel, we are less attractive than in years

We have a bloated squad in some places who lack quality and need to get rid of at least 5 players on more than £70k a week already. This hamstrings us in respect of FFP

Marcel Brands has been scouting for players to fit into Silva’s 4-2-3-1 system and now Carlo wants to play in a different way

We can’t really afford to make many more mistakes in the transfer window so will be more cautious than maybe have been in the past.

Lots of other teams wants the same type of quality players that we want. So it’s trying to convince them to join a mid table club who haven’t won anything for 25yrs after all our big stars have historically left us to bigger clubs
