On Janmashtami many people dressed their children as Kanha, but now it is time to start their personality development in the line of Shri Krishna's personality.
But, How it can be done?
This is up to you to decide.

I suggest books are one of the way to build personality.
So here are some suggestion on books -

It is always better to start with some biographies -
I would suggest biography of two legends from last 200 years of Indian History, (of course there are many more) -
1) Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati
2) Swami Vivekananda Saraswati

Another book which covers all vaidic philosophical thoughts and analysis in simple language is Swami Dayanand ka Vaidic Darshan (however recommended only if you have some background understanding of vaidic knowledge system)
That's why suggested after
above books

Once these sets are complete I would suggest reading Gita -

This edition written only in very easy Hindi without complexity of shlokas. Also recommended by our late prime minister Lal Bahadur Shashtri -
"Shrimad Bhagavadgita (Hindi Edition)" by NA, Prof. Satyavrata Siddhantalankar.

Another book in english -

Geeta For Children https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07ML6CZ3B/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_PaqnFbB5M5VQQ

Geeta is based on Sankhya Darshan. Another book that is based on Sankhya is Yog Darshan.

It will be very interesting to read this book before one reads Yog Darshan in detail -
But don't jump on this book before reading books on vaidic knowledge system suggested above including biographies -
– "Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: An introduction" by Ravikanth B..
