Stats Analysis:

The stats compare favourably for Timo - with more goals, assists, SpG, DpG, PS and MOTM awards than Vardy last season.

In particular what stood out was an average of 3.6 shots per game (Vardy 2.5 / Kane 2.8 / Auba 2.6 / Ings 2.4 / Jimenez 3.1).
The obvious elephant in the room to address though is that Werner’s stats are from the Bundesliga vs the Premier League.

Whether or not Werner settles straight into the Chelsea team and hits the ground running is one of the key things to watch for me at the start of the season.
While I’d expect Werner to start as 1st choice, he will face competition for his place in the Chelsea team, especially if he can’t hit the ground running from day one. In Giroud and Tammy, there are serious alternatives up front who will also get game time.
Also, Lampard typically plays a 4-2-3-1 or a more straight forward 4-3-3 formation. Either way, he likes to play with two narrow wingers, overlapped by wing backs, and only goes to 2 up front if chasing a game. Only one of Werner, Tammy or Giroud will likely start a PL fixture.
Jamie Vardy, on the other hand, is one of few premium FPL assets who does not face rotation risk (now Claude Puel has gone...) When fit, Jamie Vardy starts. Not only that, he was only substituted once last season (in the 79th minute of GW25 vs Chelsea).
Over the past 5 seasons in the Premier League, Vardy has averaged...

FPL Points: 187.8pts
Goals: 19.6
Assists: 6.0
Bonus Points: 30.0

Safe to say that Vardy is a highly reliable option hence, at the end of the 19/20 season, he was in 27.2% of #FPL teams.
Overall: While Werner, IMO, is the best signing so far in the PL and last season’s stats at Leipzig are favourable, Vardy remains the safer bet - particularly for the start of the season. However, if Werner starts well, he will be straight in my team!
