THREAD / Tweet 1 of x from an average nobody with just over 1k Twitter followers: It is midnight, 8/13/2020 into 8/14/2020. I am a Chicano American who supports #BLM and #BidenHarris. I have been critical of Tяump and his enablers and defenders. Proudly so, I might add.

2/x: So it is now Friday, 8/14/2020. Though @maddow expertly covered @MichaelCohen212 's yet-to-be-released book's "forward", I had read it earlier today. No surprises there for someone like me and many others who are woke to Tяump. (cont)

3/x: But it really got me thinking. At least more than usual and I tend to mind-fuck just about everything.

4/x: Our country has been under siege since Tяump was installed by Putin. And he's had an incredibly willing, corrupt GOP enabling, supporting, and defending him every step along the way. I mean, they have been a cult in every sense of the word. Unlike anything any of us (cont)

5/x: could have ever thought possible. Yet, here we are.

6/x: So what is my point, you might be asking. Well, I dunno. Seriously. I dunno. I have so many fucking points that I don't really know where to start or which is more important than another. That said, ...

7/x: I am a veteran. I took an oath like every other veteran out there. And like our politicians. We swore an oath to defend our nation and our Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC. (cont)

8/x: And here we are, facing the greatest DOMESTIC threat we have faced since our first civil war. The underlying theme this time, being not against slavery but against facism. Against authoritarianism. Against Tяumpism.

9/x: And as I sit here almost 20 minutes later, tweeting as I comtemplate and attempt to organize my thoughts into anything more than midnight ramblings, I remember the oath I swore when I enlisted into our United State Air Force as a young, first generation American. (cont)

10/x: Child of Mexican immigrants. The same Mexican immigrants that Tяump would just as soon see deported no matter how long they have lived here as productive, tax-paying citizens working to make a better life for themselves and their children.

11/x: So "what's your point?" you are likely asking by now.

12/x: I suppose my point would be this: During the regime of Tяump, #Resistance is not just welcome, resistance is mandatory. But more than that, resistance MUST lead to #Refusal. Refusal to simply accept the corrupt GOP's lawlessness.

13/x: Refusal to accept the Tяump regime's bullying and his dismantling of our ability to cast our votes via suppresion. Refusal to simply accept things as they are simply because it is difficult and inconvenient to show up to protest and make ourselves visible as resisters.

14/x: And eventually, Refusal must become Revolution. Those who came before us fought against repression. They fought against slavery. They fought against fascism.

We must fight for ourselves and our futures. We are under attack. We are under seige.

15/x: We must fight for ourselves and our futures. I have been much too hesitant while others have been out there in places like Portland getting bullied and shot by Tяump's Gestapo. Afraid of losing our friends. Afraid of losing our jobs.
