Not all warm intros are equal. Breaking down some key aspects of an intro.

A thread 👇
How well the introducer knows and likes you. Intros often come with a commentary and some can actually be luke warm or negative. Huge positive is always best.
How well the person being introduced knows and trust the introducer. This too can be negative or neutral.
How well you know the person you’re being introduced to. Are they looking to meet people like you? Or are you just guessing? Are you messaging appropriately?
How well the person being introduced knows you. This is rarer, but if you’ve built up a positive reputation online or off, it’s possible they know of you and that is always great. You can also create this by engaging with them on social (twitter, etc).
Method of intro. Most common is a forwardable intro where you can personalize the message. Don’t do LinkedIn. In an offline world, being invited to the same dinner or party is great.
I’m sure there’s more, but those are the main ones I thought of. Don’t forget that intros are a favor, so make sure to give back and pass it on!
