my PERSONAL take on anti-blackness and such in this fandom:
(disclaimer: everything that i’m going to say is my personal opinions and nobody else’s, every black stan is entitled to their own opinion)

from the start of being in this fandom representation for black people has been very minuscule. take fanfics for example, NO black women, or women of color for that matter... i’m quite light but for darkskins/brownskins i couldn’t imagine trying to find a fanfic-

with a girl like themselves (for example 4a hair, brown skin etc) that itself is quite annoying how white w blonde/brown hair and such is a norm.... but that’s not even all....

i’ve seen many racist comments made by white stans and other non black stans directed towards in this fandom.... it’s disgusting and isn’t okay.. most of the times these things get adressed luckily...

but my issue really lies with people treating black lives matter as a joke... or overall speaking over black stans when we want attention for the issues going on in the black community...

many times i’ve seen people try to use black lives matter and say things like... oh you won’t retweet because it’s not blm or whatever... or comparing struggles to black struggles.. which personally i find really offensive and really invalidating??

another issue is the over usage of aave in the fandom? like a lot of stans that ARENT black over use aave and most of the times not even properly.. and like unknowingly... then when it was finally brought up everyone (atleast from what i saw) stopped using it..

BUT... recently i’ve seen a lot of non black moots using it again?? but the same ones who were cancelling other stans for using it?? idk... it’s the utter hypocrisy and perfomative activism in this fandom aswell..

if a poc is telling u smth is racist, etc then stop doing it?? esp if ur not the race it affects ??

maybe it’s just me tho... maybe you’ll all disagree with everything i say in this thread but i take back none of it honestly.

anyways.... black stans deserve better. poc stans deserve better.... stop treating us like shit?? i’m just gonna leave it there sorry i went on a tangent kinda... (sorry if there’s any spelling mistakes)
