THREAD FOR REPORTERS ON ELECTIONS

Going into the election, I humbly suggest these experts. These are people with years of experience & some of the hardest working in their fields

Please note this is based on my experience/reading of these people & I'm happy to add names!

1/
(1) Elections, Generally
@persily is THE person on elections, voting infrastructure, VBM, democracy in COVID, social media & elections ( @healthyelex)
@wuc3 is A+ on Electoral College, voting rights
@j_a_tucker is compiling great new info on social media & voting

2/
(2) Elections, disinformation
@alexstamos built a world class team at Stanford including @noUpside @katestarbird combine that with @BostonJoan @EthanZ and you have probably 5 of the best people empirically researching disinformation and coordinated inauthentic behavior today

3/
(3) Elections, social media

If things get dark & we're in a world of deepfakes, you'll need to talk to @BobbyChesney & @daniellecitron
If things are coming down from sites for violating rules, I'm a good source but so are @evelyndouek, @jilliancyork, @TarletonG, @ubiquity75
4/
(4) Elections, the courts
If we end up litigating elections see everyone in (1) but also, there's no one savvier than @LeahLitman @ProfMMurray @Jaime_ASantos at @StrictScrutiny_ plus @kateashaw1 @deepakguptalaw @steve_vladeck
For DOJ perspectives @marty_lederman is 100

5/
(5) Elections, the First Amendment/Press
@jackbalkin is the godfather of understanding government & online speech
@JameelJaffer @AlexanderAbdo (& @knightcolumbia generally) are leading voices on interaction of internet & 1A
