Let’s be real for a minute. Maybe a year off from the 9/11 light memorial isn’t a bad thing. 170k plus have died from Covid. Let’s give their loved ones some time. This is coming from someone who is from LI, had a Fam member in the towers and connection to many who passed.
A year doesn’t mean we forget. Trust me no one allows us too. But lets give those who lost people this year time to grieve, time to feel loved, and give them the respect of not parading the deaths of other Americans in their faces.
I’ll never, ever forget that day/days. Not knowing if people were alive or dead. I do not need a light show to remind me or think of those people. But let’s make sure we give those who pass/passed this year their fair due. Many are STILL suffering.
So wear a mask. Stay socially distant. Tell those you love, you love them. On 9/11 take a personal minute for those who passed (*if you want). And let’s stop the nonsense over some fucking lights. Also SAVE THE USPS!!!!
Oh! One more nugget... people outside of metro NY, in my experience, have very little interest in 9/11 memorial or events. Covid is a nation wide issue. Take a minute. Check yourselves.
