I’m about to go ahead and make some of y’all mad right slow (cause the thread gone be long) but I don’t care (y’all already knew that tho). What if when a CHH artist decides to “leave”, the bubble it’s not because they are greedy but because MANY of y’all treat them like trash
Y’all hold Christian rappers to a higher standard than you hold preachers, heads of Christian Universities (Liberty), and even the PRESIDENT. It’s already enough pressure to make good music you spend months and years on hoping people will like it...
Trump literally sat in a church and said he could KILL someone and y’all would still follow him... but if a Christian rap artist has a photo with liquor in it, y’all ready to send that person to HELL. Y’all expect rappers to be Jesus, your pastor, and most important NOT black.
Yep... I said it. Most posts I’ve seen from a CHH artist about blackness or fighting for the rights of black people has a LARGE negative response... often soaked in racism. Y’all really expect the black artists in this space to want to STAY? Honestly I’m surprised they do.
Also, a CHH artist can be doing amazing music for YEARS and get no awards... few touring opportunities... AND VERY LITTLE MONEY but let a mainstream artist say Jesus in an adlib and y’all tell the CHH artist he’s trash and should do it like the mainstream artist
And before y’all super spiritual people or weirdos say I’m jealous... I’ve been on EVERY major tour except 1, have a gold record, Grammy, dove, stellar and

so this ain’t about me but I’m the exception.

What’s crazy is... even Lecrae who is the biggest most successful rapper to ever come out of this space gets treated like DIRT the MOMENT he says anything wrong or says something y’all don’t like... often when it comes to his blackness but y’all mad when he say he out?
Not to mention... the closet racism, unequal pay (even if we are doing well), AWFUL record deals and snubs at every corner behind the scenes in the “Christian” music industry... no wonder dudes say... this may not be worth it... maybe the grass is greener.
Dudes see mainstream artists with hella love fans, ENORMOUS BAGS, they can say what they want with little pushback while CHH artists get smacked by their own “fans” for doing a song with a “secular” artist or not enough Jesus per minutes. Goofy energy & unnecessary pressure.
I got so much more to say but end of the day, I’m a say this... There’s not a ton of people making faith based urban music and if you keep treating people like trash... you gone be listening to old CHH songs from 2011 wishing you had that old thing back. Don’t @ me @ your mom.
Also, Shout out to all the fans that show unlimited love and life! Christian or non Christian. Y’all keep the ship a float. To the rest of the busters tho...
