Alright, enough is enough. June discourse is dominating Homestuck twitter and it’s negatively effecting everyone involved. Here’s a thread on how we SHOULD be dealing with this discourse. Retweets appreciated.

First of all, some people may just be uneducated on the topic. Don’t jump to conclusions. Instead, provide them with this informational carrd that has everything you’d need to know about June! http://juneegbert101.carrd.co 

If they stay stubborn in their views and refuse to listen to your point of view, then DONT ARGUE WITH THEM!! It’s most likely what the want, discourse. Instead, block and move on. Sure you can say something funny like “damn that’s crazy aha” before blocking but DONT ARGUE!!

Once they see that they’re not getting the reactions they want, and are instead just getting blocked by everyone in the community, they’ll either leave, stop bothering people, or realise they’re wrong and try to change. That’s their call to make.

DO NOT HARASS PEOPLE no matter what. Do not purposefully trigger people. Do not purposefully misgender people. Do not make fun of someone’s special interest or hyperfixation.

This isn’t an okay thing to do under any circumstances. Drop it. Be the bigger person.

If everyone starts following these steps instead of engaging in the discourse, then we aren’t gonna have the discourse to begin with. Once the people doing it for attention realise everyone is just blocking them and moving on, they won’t do it anymore.

Don’t go into their private discord servers and spaces to attack them. For many it’s a comfort thing. Respect that they’re not being public about it, and are instead keeping to themselves. Most are kids. Please do not go and harass people over this. It’s fiction, remember that.
