10. Andre 3000

Arguably the best flow of all time. 3 stacks, with help from Big Boi, curated one of the best discographies in all of Hip-Hop. His countless feature verses the past decade have not once dissapointed.

9. Pharoahe Monch

“Monch is like an eloquent linguistics professor moonlighting as a rhyme serial killer terrorist, challenging the listeners' I.Q. while daring him or her to keep up.” He is insanely skilled.

Favorite Album: Internal Affairs
8. Common

Common is one of the best lyricists in the history of hip-hop. He kept the 90s sound alive through the early 2000s, consistentely putting out high quality material. He also happens to have one of the best rapping voices of all time.

7. Mos Def

Mos is very underrated in discussions about the best MCs of all time. He has 2 very strong classic albums with BOBS and Black Star and a severely underrated project in The Ecstatic. Mos’ rapping ability is undoubtedly incredible.

6. Jay-Z

Hov is the king of wordplay and his catalogue is extremely consistent. He managed to drop one of the best albums in his discography 21 years into his career. Hov deserves the be on everybody’s all-time list. Incredible longevity.

5. Lupe Fiasco

Lupe is a top 3 lyricist of all time and his albums have some of the best songwriting ever. His ability to convey complex concepts while mainting lyrical integrity is second to none which is why he gets a spot in my top 5.

4. Ghostface Killah

Ghost has the best delivery in all of hip-hop. While having one of the greatest solo discographies, he was always able to shine on tracks with his Wu-Tang contemporaries. This puts him amongst hip-hop’s elite.

3. Kendrick Lamar

The man that got me into hip-hop. Kendrick’s storytelling, conceptual focus, and emotive approach to his songs puts him in a class of his own. Deriving influence from both coasts, Kendrick has created an incredibly consistent catalogue.

2. Nas

Nasty Nas. The GOAT of storytelling. Nas’ creativy shines on every aspect of his albums except for the cover. Arguably the greatest lyricist ever, his discography post ‘96 gets severely underrated but it is still incredible.

1. Black Thought

Over the past 25 years, Thought has been the poster child of consistency for MCs. 14 studio albums with The Roots and numerous feature verses with some of the best rappers in the game and he’s only been outrapped a handful of times. GOAT.
