Just a tiny thready thread: haven’t said much about the postal thing because I have seen it coming for years. Dad was a postal worker and a veteran of Korea. LOTS of postal workers are veterans who served our country overseas and continue to serve us now.

I don’t have solid figures, so I can’t say for certain, but I’d bet a dozen donuts the majority of postal workers are veterans from some war or another. So when this administration is screwing over the postal service, understand that they’re screwing over veterans.

I saw this coming years ago when they passed that utterly ridiculous law requiring the postal service to fund their pension at 75%. That’s a rate NO OTHER AGENCY requires. They said it’s being “financially responsible” when it is expressly designed to break the service.

Services like FedEx and UPS want the postal service destroyed because the USPS does their thing efficiently and pays their employees fairly and provides a pension and dang it, nobody is sufficiently exploited, and there are PROFITS to be made, so kill the USPS

Guess who donated a shitload of money to the folks in Congress who wrote that law to break the USPS by overfunding the pension? It wasn’t the postal workers, who are the beneficiaries of said pension. Nope. It was rich mothercustards like The Tromp donor who is now postmaster.

This Tromp donor has MILLIONS invested in postal service competitors. It is in his personal financial interest to destroy the USPS.

It is in Tromp’s interest to not allow mail ballots in the election. So.
