I don't like to jump into twitter threads that i am not invited into, but this is a poor assessment of Bavinck's conclusion. https://twitter.com/MeditarMestizo/status/1293984861745815564

How Herman Bavinck’s Understanding of the Image of God Can Help Inform Conversations on Race"

I am not suggesting Bavinck did not have his own antiquated views, for example his essay 'Hoofd en Hart' makes some statements about the differences between races (namely some more heart, others more head) that make me uncomfortable.
However, Bavinck is not 'white-washing" biblical triumphalism. Rather he upholds the diversity of races, languages, etc. as rooted in Babylon. Nonetheless, the superlative unity-in-diversity of mankind cannot be escaped (moreover it is rooted in God's triune-ness).
"Genesis 10, accordingly, maintains the unity of the race (human race) in the face of all diversity" (RD II, 525). He specifically then states Darwinism cannot combat this ^. "against this unity Darwinism cannot really raise any objection."

This unity is necessary bc:
"The unity of the human race, as Scripture teaches, is powerfully confirmed by all this. It is, finally, not a matter of indifference, as is sometimes claimed, but on the contrary of the utmost importance: it is the presupposition of religion and morality...
"...The solidarity of the human race, original sin, the atonement in Christ, the universality of the kingdom of God, the catholicity of the church, and the love of neighbor—these all are grounded in the unity of humankind." (RD II, 526).
Another source on this would be the recent podcast by RTS w/ @georgeharinck , if I remember correctly the conversation bends at one point towards Bavinck's takes on race ( https://open.spotify.com/episode/2lX295WVwrYIHSYJq20Kjj)
