Anti semitism is not new it is not something that is uncommon but it isn’t talked about enough so people think it doesn’t happen on a daily basis. Jews experience the most hate crimes in America and have for years. However antisemitism is not always in the form of a hate crime-

It can be little things in your day to day life that are reasons to have to hide your jewish identity in order to avoid antisemitism I’m going to share a few things in my life and I encourage my fellow Jews to do the same so everyone can see why antisemitism needs to end

I go to a jewish school and in 8th grade we went on an overnight trip to D.C we were at a baseball game and a man complained about being seated around a bunch of jewish kids and was disrespectful towards one of our rabbis. We left early to avoid the situation escalating

That was a big example here’s something in my day to day life unless we are in a Jewish establishment or town with a lot of Jews my dad and brother won’t wear their yalmuka (a small head covering jewish men) in order to avoid antisemitism

When walking into a a non jewish establishment my parents have told me to tuck in my necklace either because it has a Star of David or hebrew words and my sister has had to do this too and so have many other jewish women and men

People have said to me “Oh your a Jew so you must be rich” or “wow you have a small nose for a Jew” antisemitism is not usually in form of a hate crime and we need to bring more awareness to the antisemitism us jews experience in our day to day lives

Even if you aren’t jewish please include Jews in your activism and if anyone has any questions about Judaism or antisemitism please dm me I won’t judge you at all

And I completely forgot to mention the countless Holocaust jokes. They’re not funny my great grandfather lost his 12 siblings and both his parents my grandmother had to hide in an orphanage in Siberia, 6 million people dying isn’t some funny joke #nomoreantisemitism
