"It& #39;s not sustainable." If this isn& #39;t a word. https://twitter.com/NatePyle79/status/1293186197569671175">https://twitter.com/NatePyle7...
Pastors, please get the help you need. Don& #39;t lose your souls, hearts, or relationships trying to carry the demands of a congregation or the weight of the world.
Having spent the majority of my adult life in church ministry, I have so many things to say about this. But I will share this.
Last fall, my husband & I made the heartbreaking decision to step away from leading the church we love. But we had no choice: It had become unsustainable.
Obedience meant surrendering to God-given limits, and the weight of ministry & gap btwn demands of a few influential leaders & our ability to please them made continuing impossible.
I haven& #39;t shared this publicly yet because I honestly didn& #39;t know what to say. Only this far out do we have enough distance to understand what happened.
TLDR: We found ourselves facing the choice between the health of our souls & souls of our children & continued conflict & unnecessary power struggles. We believed & still do that God was calling us away.
Since then, He has been what he always is: Faithful.
All our needs are met. Our hearts are healing, but there& #39;s still a grief & loss. We still don& #39;t know what the next season holds.

The hardest part is knowing that our experience is both completely unavoidable & completely common. I know there is someone reading this thread facing this same thing or passing through it.
So friend, get the help you need. Care for your soul & the souls of your family. And above all else, entrust yourself to God. His yoke is easy & His burden is light. He will provide rest for your soul.
