Let’s start with the #Tarlos meeting room!
Quick disclaimer for this one
There was some sound issues, mostly when Ronen was speaking, so I might have missed some tiny bits of the conversation. If you were there please feel free to add anything I’m missing!
Quick disclaimer for this one

While we were waiting for everyone to join, they were talking about their plants and how they were excited for Rafa’s first con even if he’s still learning how to use technology.
The meeting room was full (around 30 people) so you couldn’t even se everyone at the same time on the screen and Ronen was like “they really like us for some reasons”

The first question was: who’d say I love you first between TK and Carlos?
Ronen immediately said Carlos because he’s the mushy one, while TK is only mushy on the inside

Rafa doesn’t think it would be him because Carlos always tries to have his stuff together. They will need a certain level of trust between them, especially with everything TK went through. He thinks it’s fair game between the two of them.
We’ll find out about Carlos’ background and what he’s about in S2. We already know he’s the kind of friend (& lover) who will be by your side no matter what, so it will be interesting to see how this two different guys’ relationship develops and who will say ILY first eventually.
Second question was how do they see each of their character grow individually?
Rafa said that with television you learn as you go about your character, and especially with Carlos he had to determine certain things about him outside of the scripts.

Carlos is very put together, he has to be, because as a cop he can easily either take or save a life in an instant. Rafa wonders what he’d look like when he’s a little bit messy, when something doesn’t make sense to him and how does he cope with that emotionally.
He also wants to see how he is as a lover, we know he likes to cook for others but how does he receive kindness? And he would love to see the reality of his job in today’s world and how he deals with.
Ronen wants to see how TK’s gonna evolve now that he’s comfortable and trusts the group he works with for the first time ever. But also what happens with his dad, is he gonna get better? or is TK gonna have to be a caretaker for Owen? And how is that going to affect him.
And with Carlos, can TK really open himself to him? Ronen also really wants to explore their relationship as first responders and see them work together in a chaotic environment (like in episode 10). They would like to see how each job compliments each other.
Then they were asked about their favorite moment together, which obviously is the police station scene. They had the whole day to shoot that scene, just the two of them. They really had time to dig into it which they don’t usually have.
Everytime they thought they had did, they kept doing it again in a different way and only got it to be even better in the end.
The show is very much plot-driven with big explosions, accidents, etc.. all the time but this scene felt like it was very much about the characters and it was very fulfilling for them as actors which made them happy.
I then asked them what would be their ideal scenario for the crossover with 911.
Ronen wants to work with Angela Bassett just because she’s one of the most iconic actresses of all time, and just even one line with her would make him happy!

He just wants to work with the entire crew, and it would be very difficult but he would love the entire 911 cast to work with the entire Lone Star cast as there would be some interesting pairings to make.
Rafa also wants to see Carlos and Athena work together of course. But he has no idea how the two companies would come together to work on the same thing but trusts the writer to find something really great.
But he imagines someone from LA would have a connection to someone over in Austin. He would just feel humble working with any of them because he’s also a fan of the show!
Last question was: if they could take one characteristic from their character, what would it be?
Rafa would want Carlos’ discipline so he doesn’t procrastinate.
Ronen would want TK’s blind bravery and how he would run to danger to save someone.

Moving on to the #Tarlos panel/Q&A!
Before Rafa joined, Ronen briefly talked about what happened since the last con and how Follow Me is finally out and doing so well in so many countries!
About what they would want to see for Tarlos in season 2.
Rafa would like to see just the naturalness of two people getting to know each other and going on dates but also how they work together as a team.

Ronen wants TK to cook Carlos dinner, go out on a date and have some fun. The honeymoon stage of a couple within the environment of their stressful jobs and the balance of it all.
Someone then asked them what they like the most about working together?
Ronen said that it all started in the chemistry read since it’s not something you can fake, when there’s chemistry it’s natural. It’s very rare to find this from the very beginning in the audition room.

At the end of the day your scene partner makes you better and so he has to give half the credit to Rafa and he’s so lucky to do this with him. (They both we’re very soft and kept complimenting each other
)

For Rafa, the audition was the very moment they decided that not matter what they did they had each other’s back. And that’s the fondation of their relationship both on and off screen.
There’s an unspoken comfort that two people find when they work together on a scene but are also friends, a certain type of intimacy that you don’t have with someone you don’t see outside of work. And it feeds Tarlos’ relationship.
They had to trust each other from the audition so the ship could just go and it just went really well. There’s nothing more freeing that the person in front of you understanding you and getting you no matter what.
Next question was about conventions and for which show they would attend a convention as a fan?
Ronen answered with the show he most recently watched: #TheUmbrellaAcademy
, the show has blown him away and it’s very much a show to have conventions about.

Rafa absolutely loves Viola Davis, he’s a huge fan of #HTGAWM (Ronen went to get his Vanity Fair with Viola on the cover). He originally watched it just casually like any of us but then as an actor he started to see all the nuances of her acting and how incredible she is.
He also really loves her whole life story but really he would love to meet any of the actors from the show because he loves all the characters and they’re all amazing.
After that they were asked about their preparation for their roles.
Rafa had only a week between being cast and shooting so he mostly learned while shooting. Physically, you have to run or carry people as part of the job. He worked on his focus a lot Went to the gym.

He also found and read the Austin police manual online, that was his reference for anything happening on the scripts. He would always refer back to the manual to make it as realistic as possible.
And he watched a lot of the TV show “cops”, a lot of dashboard videos to have an idea of what it’s like to be a cop when no one’s watching. And then trained with a professional (who also trained Angela) at a shooting range to get the right physical stance and presence.
Ronen had to get in the best shape of his career. His personal trainer was a firefighter in the air force so he knew how to get him in the shape he needed to handle the equipment and everything else.
They wear real equipment, they just took out some of the padding so it’s less hot for the actors. He also went to the sauna a lot to get his body used to the heat. So when the others were sweating like crazy he wasn’t affected by it because the sauna heat is much worse.
Ronen, Brian and Natacha also went along with a real firehouse company for a whole day and got to learn a lot from them. And they always have retired firefighters/medics on set to help them make everything feel as authentic as possible.
Ronen confirmed that his first language is Russian, his second language is Hebrew and English is only his third language. Just like Rafa’s first language is Portuguese and English is his second language.
The last question of this panel was about their pet peeves on an off set.
Ronen doesn’t appreciate when people don’t treat their job with respect (not on LS but with other job) because you should see how fortunate you are to have a job, and especially as professional actors.

When he sees people complain or not take it seriously, it makes him upset. It’s very rare to make it to a big movie/show and people should appreciaye how lucky they are to do this.
Rafa thanked Ronen for bringing this up because that’s a reality of the business (once again not on LS where everyone brings always brings their A game)
There’s this idea that being a professional actor means you have booked a big thing or you’re a celebrity (which he doesn’t considerate himself as). But to him it’s “do you take it seriously?” because if you do you are a professional actor. No matter how big the job is.
When he worked in a restaurant, finishing late at night, he would have to wait for the train home at 3am, so he would be reading scripts for audition at 10am the next morning. And a lot of people don’t see that progression from that struggle to making it to a big role.
He used the example of Lucy Hale, who is a very established actor, posting a video of how devastated she was about Katy Keene being canceled which showed how much she cared. Humility is key and as a working actor right now you shouldn’t take anything for granted.
