Hammersmith bridge closure means no river traffic allowed underneath which means the Thames is effectively cut off. If people want to reach the non-tidal Thames they& #39;ll have to go via the Regent& #39;s Canal (if their boat fits.) The problem is there& #39;s no water in the Regent& #39;s Canal!
Currently the only possible route is via Limehouse Cut, Lee Navigation, and Hertford Union Canal to the Regent& #39;s. But with water supply looking even more precarious (there hasn& #39;t been any rain to boost the Regent& #39;s water levels) its all touch and go.
The Regent& #39;s Canal below Victoria Park& #39;s been struggling for days, sometimes boats have been sitting on the bottom & its been closed intermittently to try get levels restored. Today it was shut again (Salmons Lock to Limehouse) in an attempt to get water levels back up.
