The lack of coordination between Ministries, Agencies and Departments of Government under the current administration is the biggest undoing of the Change Mantra of the @MBuhari administration. @ProfOsinbajo

It is nothing but a sign of deep weakness and poor leadership.

From refusal to appoint ministers of Government upon the advent of the administration to the 2015/2016 FX policy summersault by the CBN and the Ministry of Finance, the ban on $deposits and the importation of cars, the Government has shown persistent signs of poor coordination
We were here when EFCC tried to arrest the ex-DG of DSS and the Service resisted forcefully. As if that wasn’t all, the DSS wrote memoranda against the confirmation of the EFCC Chairman citing shady deals and corruption. Two agencies of the same Government playing kite in public
I can’t forget the Mainagate scandal, how a wanted fugitive and alleged corrupt officer was secretly cleared, reinstated, given police protection, promoted and deployed to Min of Interior between the Head of Service and the Secretary to the Government under shady circumstances
Remember the NHIS Director? Removed by a Minister of Health in exercise of the President’s powers and the police provided cover to the Director, who broke into the office and refused to comply with the suspension order because of his godfather in the villa and nothing happened?
Let me move to NBET. Two Directors got the MD suspended on allegations of corruption and hijacked the agency for months. Mr President reinstated her and another minister from another ministry removed her again! Twice!! The Ministries of Power and Finance are still slugging it out
The Ministry of Labour has had its own share over the inauguration of Boards. Two parallel Boards had been inaugurated by the Minister of Labour & Employment recently, and the controversy was over which Board was duly approved, appointed and sworn in. All in the same Government!
Remember the Wadume Scandal? Military officers were deployed and engaged via a “distress call” to trace and kill serving police officers from the Force Headquarters who had arrested a suspected kidnap kingpin. Soldiers took the suspect in handcuffs and released him just like that
Recently, the Minister of Communication had to suspend NIPOST’s new licensing regime and obnoxious license fees which they claimed he approved. Hon. Minister had to tweet that what he approved was different from what NIPOST tried to implement.

One Government, plenty dysfunction!
We spent about 2 years on the PEBEC/Ease of Business Initiatives, I was in the Starting a Business and Entry & Exit Workgroups.

While we achieved a lot, most of the bottlenecks are back!

Fines! Levies!! Bans!!!

Disincentives are back and the clime is scaring investors away!
Remember the open Tweetfight between the NIPOST Chairman person and the @FIRS official Twitter handle over the collection of Stamp Duty?

This is a very recent display of madness. Just last month.

If that isn’t a sign of endemic dysfunction, please tell me what is!!!
Even Hon Abike Dabiri alleged openly on Twitter that NCC and the Minister of Communications used the Police to chase out @nidcom_gov staff out of a temporary office space and seized their computers and working equipment.

There was a Tweet fight over this issue too.

Naija, why?
I don’t want to mention the Assault on the Judiciary, the Midnight Raids, “Jankara” Ex-parte Orders of a certain Code of (Mis) conduct Tribunal removing a Chief Justice of Nig. in a questionable manner, and blatant refusal of the Executive to obey orders of Court just because...!
All these incidents are a few of what I could reel off my finger tips as recollections will allow, I am sure there are many more

Appointment of late persons into offices 2-3 years after they’re long gone, refusal to constitute Boards for years, ghost workers in their numbers...
I JUST WANT A COUNTRY THAT WORKS!

Our leaders need to get to work and give us a country we can be proud of.

Synergy in government policies, coordination for peace, security and prosperity is the essence of my long thread!

This shouldn’t be rocket science.

God bless Nigeria🇳🇬
