first of all, i come from a very religious family. my grandparents have been to Mecca. as i grew older, i myself have decided that i do not believe in Allah or any sort of god, and im very thankful that my family is accepting of it. however i am more than educated on the matter.

if you ARE muslim you of course have the full right to still feel offended. just keep the same energy for the men – kanye, drake, busta rhymes, jay z, kendrick, travis, ferg and many others have said the same things nicki did. if you’re not muslim - stfu

first of all - why cant she say muslim phrases literally everyone knows? lets forbid non-christians from saying “for God’s sake” then

in my country at least muslim phrases are common talk. ie Assalamu Alaykum is used as a greeting. i can say it and so can my white non-muslim friend. im sorry if im wrong, but i read that there are quite a lot of muslims in Trinidad. she might just be used to using them like i am

i dont find “i dont fvck with pigs like Assalamu Alaykum” and “Assalamu Alaykum no oink for me” offensive. neither does my grandpa, in fact, he found it hilarious (he’s been muslim since childhood and traveled to Mecca. he’s nearly 80 and as conservative as it gets)

oh and let’s not forget that she wrote those lyrics more than 10 years ago and she was underground, not NEARLY as famous and her influential as she is now. her whole persona was over the top offensive. and she is a RAPPER. none of her lyrics are respectful according to Islam
