disclaimer: this is just what i gather from reading articles about it! pls pls research about the vaccine coz it’s not looking good

August 11 2020, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin announced in the state owned TV Network the approval of the ‘world’s first COVID vaccine’ https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-53735718
Sputnik V is a vaccine developed by Gamaleya Institute, a Moscow-based facility, funded by Russian Direct Investment Fund ( a state-owned investment fund). 2. The vaccine is based on the SARS-CoV-2 type adenovirus DNA, a type of common cold virus.
The vaccine basically uses the weakened virus to simulate your immune response against COVID.
however the vaccine has been faced with questions and concerns about its safety since the announcement of its approval. these are some good articles that explained the concerns over the vaccine’s safety and effectivity:
summarizing the points in the articles:
- concern over the unfinished trial, the vaccine has not pass the phase III of the clinical trial for vaccines, aka the most crucial part of the trials.

- if you wanna understand why this trials are important read this article from Center of Disease Control and Prevention about Vaccine Testing and approval

- without the phase III trials, we will not have data about the vaccine’s efficacy and safety since its not tested in thousands of people first before being approved to use to the general public. (
)

- concern over the lack of transparency regarding the data gathered in the Phase I and II of the clinical trials of the vaccine.
- this article in particular explains it further: https://indianexpress.com/article/explained/why-russia-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine-claims-are-being-questioned-6550134/lite/

so yeah basically the vaccine isnt even done with the clinical trials yet, its data not yet peer reviewed, it’s side effects, unknown and even WHO want to review it before releasing it to the general public.
