The reason that downgrades more heavily affect pupils in schools in disadvantaged areas is because historically those schools performed worse.
But why should that be an excuse? Surely that& #39;s an even bigger problem that historically people from these schools have lower results

The outrage over downgraded results is misplaced. The problem isn& #39;t a statistical model, it& #39;s the historic pattern that pupils in disadvantaged areas are getting a worse quality education and consistently performing worse due to lack of funding and support
