Really never expected to type this out, but here goes. On Monday, after more than three years here at @ringer, I submitted my two weeks. I’ve loved being a part of this team, and working to write, research, and fact check the stories, videos, projects, and podcasts we make.
I’ll never be able to thank @cbengaines enough for taking a chance on me, and @doxellis, @kajerstin, @zachkram for teaching me how to do my job well and keeping me sane. Plus @PaoloUggetti, @chrisjalmeida, @bwags, and so many more.
Working here was a gift. I got to be edited by @rwohan and helped on stories by my favorite writers like @bryancurtis, @katiebakes, @jordanconn, @MichaelBaumann, and @netw3rk.
Every member of the @RingerUnion is a delight, and I’ll miss them most of all. There’s no better crew in the business. Period. Support them.
My last day is August 20. I don’t have anything else lined up yet. If you’re an editor who’s looking for pitches, I’ve written blogs, columns and features on just about every sport, and some pop culture to boot. I can fact-check books, magazine pieces, and web stories.
Every special build you’ve seen since mid-2017 (the draft guides and big lists and fantasy rankings) came across my desk. More than half of the stories published by the site that made Longform had me on facts. And I got to write a handful of features I’ll be proud of all my life.
It was a good run. Now it’s time for the next one.
