Working class, BME and GRT students have been shafted by an edcucation system that was not designed for them and it makes me so angry. We had an opportunity to change things, to work towards building a better system that works for everybody.

Instead Ofqual and the DfE ensured that it was business as usual and that the needs of the White middle classes were met. They were informed, repeatedly, that this would have a disproportionate impact but they didn't listen. It was all performative stakeholder rubbish as usual.

They didn't give a damn for these kids and the reality is that the whole exams system is flawed. One measly pandemic and your whole system fell like a house of cards and you managed to mess up the pick up so badly. Shambolic.

For the kids who are affected today and those who will be on GCSE results day - I'm sorry that it's shambolic. I hope that you can challenge grades where needed and that despite this you can make the progress you need to in your life. They won't open the doors so kick them down.
