Because they get no support in their generally solo gendered caretaking from the government or the church that taught them that solo gendered caretaking is a consecrated work. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🄰" title="Smiling face with 3 hearts" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with 3 hearts">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ™ƒ" title="Auf den Kopf gestelltes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Auf den Kopf gestelltes Gesicht">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ™" title="Folded hands" aria-label="Emoji: Folded hands">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ’‹" title="Kussabdruck" aria-label="Emoji: Kussabdruck"> https://twitter.com/trappedtrash/status/1293694160503861249">https://twitter.com/trappedtr...
Me, watching the discourse blame SAHM trapped in patriarchal systems. ā€œBlame the women for operating imperfectly in a system designed to subjugate themā€ isn’t a NEW rhetorical device, but the consistency is comforting!
The responses to the original tweet are exactly what I’d expect! It’s fine to disparage women as long as they are religious and have many children and don’t have a traditional career.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We don’t know how many of these women have: unsafe homes, children with severe learning differences, chronic depression, or are just so stretched they cannot see to tomorrow. Want to get mad? Go after the people in power. My god.
