A bunch of kids have cleared 10/12 in the extended family/friend circle this year. Spoke to two brothers yday - one has cleared 10,another has cleared 12. Younger wants to do Comps/IT coz he loves "software/hardware"; elder one wants to Electrical because "repaired chargers home"

This is another disturbing trend. I am sure, as a parent, even I will end up giving mobile to kid earlier than others expect. But looks stupid from othersid
Problem with mentoring in such scenes is also difficult. They want straight answers.

"okay, so you tell us what should we do"

Tried explaining that you have to take your bets, and feel in-control about choices you can make. Much more difficult to speak for post Covid scene.
I am sure this problem is across the spectrum. However, those with educated/well-positioned parents have strong benefit of headstart.
