I've had a woman ( @AoifeMurtagh6) suggest that I was calling the Tánaiste a race traitor following his tweet in relation to white, middle class men.

I suggested he has spent his life trying to fit in. A man who was raised by a socialist, a man who actively voted to deny gay 1/

Men the right to adopt, a man who has been behind countless policies of the middle class conservative boys club punching down and attempting to blame socio-economic hardship on the working class.

This man does all this to appease the middle class conservative white privileged 2/

Buddies he holds.

Rather than seeing the nuance of this, @AoifeMurtagh6, a Soc Dem like myself, has focused on one part of this and one part only. His comment on whiteness. And somehow decided that my comment on "fitting in" was labelling the Tánaiste a race traitor. 3/

Despite having been repeatedly corrected on her blind inflammatory assumption and defamatory accusation, she is doubling down.

Never in my life have I even used the term "race-traitor" nor implied somebody is such.

I find it incredibly insulting to find someone within my own party to be accusing me of this and despite being set straight they do not wish to retract such an accusation.

Defamation of this nature will not be tolerated.
