/7 These world forums did not judge that Somaliland case is illegal, in fact, past judgments they delivered on similar cases were clearly influenced by other considerations before legality. https://twitter.com/MohamoudGaildon/status/1293889088689516544
/7 For example, their stances on USSR balkanization, Eritrea & South-Sudan secession greatly varied, but were consistently aligned to their strategic interests.
/7 Somalilanders, on the other hand, studied relevant international laws and found Somaliland State born 1960 (the predecessor entity of present-day Somaliland), did not cease to exist, owing to major legal loopholes in the union with Somalia thus making its return a lawful one.
/7 ‘Wadahadal’ is the only impediment to Somaliland’s case. Why? Unless the 2 parties are in agreement to peacefully divorce or an influential third party who has vested interest in the separation, interferes, ‘Wadahadal’ never favored separation, history teaches.
/7 It is indeed when all talks and negotiations stop, that separation has a chance.
In fact, it is the Somaliland detractors that try to legally challenge its case, what you often see is not repetition of legal argument, but a mere response.
/7 Lastly, your opposition to Somaliland statehood, 100% stems from your resolve that Somalis should be united for their survival in this region and in the world and therefore has very little to do with legality. Or simply legality is not a major concern in that regard.
/7 But again to achieve that, you 1) deliberately divide people along regions and by extension clan lines, 2) try to give legal basis to your sentiments. That is logically inconsistent and not healthy at all.
