Traveling abroad opened my eyes to how many freedoms I take for granted. From opening a business, to voting, to protesting, to speaking out against the government to having food in every grocery store and clean water. I just really didn& #39;t know how spoiled and entitled I was.
A friend in another country said, "I applied to open a business. In a few years the government will let me know if I can." Another friend said, "Things have been a lot better since we got a new dictator. For the last three years, we& #39;ve been allowed to travel outside our country."
Are there problems in America? Without a doubt, lots of them and significant ones worth lamenting, rebuilding and fixing. There& #39;s so much work to be done here. But travel really opened my eyes to why this country is worth fighting for together.
