In March no one knew what a shit show this virus was going to be, no one knew the extent to which it would damage and take lives and the words lockdown and quarantine and masks and distancing hadn’t even entered our lives

Most of us were still thinking it would blow over and the Indian government hadn’t yet restricted gatherings of people. The Tablighi Jamat gathering happening in early March when none of us knew the diabolical nature of the virus

However the Tablighi Jamat and Muslims all over the country I daresay were singled out as super spreaders, Tablighi virus etc and media and Twitter was rife with stories of how 30% of cases in India at that time were because of TJ

However NOW that we have some idea of the nature of this virus, when India is having the maximum number of cases and deaths it has ever seen and increasing everyday, after countless lockdowns and countless lives this virus has claimed,

Tirupati opened up and many cases were reported, ram mandir opening ceremony and ram janmabhomi event and now the ram temple trust head has contracted the virus and his condition is deteriorating and he wasn’t even wearing a mask! And he may have infected many others including PM

How come there is no widespread outrage anywhere either on social media or otherwise? If what TJ did was wrong then is this not equally reprehensible? How come muslims across the country were responsible for what TJs did but no one is talking about Hindus and their beliefs?

If you want to condemn how idiotic religion and religious gatherings and religious beliefs etc are especially in the midst of a pandemic, condemn all! Or if you don’t want to hurt sentiments, condemn none! Why this selective outrage and selective villainizing

I genuinely want to understand if I am missing something or have failed to take some key information into account when saying that these two events of TJs spreading virus and ram mandir/Tirupathi people spreading virus were dealt with very differently by the media?

And please do not point me to absolute trash sites like opindia or swarajyamag. I’d rather eat ladoos laced with the virus than read something so horribly biased and ill-researched
