anyway, we need to have better discourse surrounding age gaps in hook ups or dating that’s more rigorous than anecdotal arguments or “well i fucked 30 year olds when i was 18 y’all are just boring”

that’s great! i’m sure most of those guys were fine dudes and y’all had a fun time. but i’m sure a couple of em were 30+ year olds who have a pattern of only dating/fucking freshly 18 year old guys and THAT’S the behavior i think people are trying to point out, albeit poorly

so i’m not grossed out by age gaps. but i am skeptical of older men who consistently pursue relationships with large age gaps and why that might be the case, especially when the people they pursue are freshly 18 year olds

and a lot of this discourse is couched in terms of innocence for the 18 year old and assumed guilt for the older partner and that’s also bullshit. 18 year olds are no more innocent than anyone else.

we just need to, as a culture, start to be more critical of the sex we have. and we can still have fun sex! we should just like.....think abt it for a second ya know? it can’t do anything other than enrich the relationships we have wiyh partners in the long run tbh
