Asking to tag my triggers has always been *not fun* for me. I have tried a couple of times pretty early (in 2017 I think) but people ignored me or didn& #39;t react in a nice way. 1/6 https://twitter.com/drnucleus/status/1293708414871384066">https://twitter.com/drnucleus...
So I stopped asking for tags, simply dropping the triggering fics, and wondering if the author noticed I stopped commenting, and what to tell them in the case they asked me why I wasn& #39;t commenting on their fics anymore. 2/6
I never had the courage to plainly admit "I can& #39;t read your fic anymore because I was triggered, you didn& #39;t tag X." But I have tried raising awareness on Twitter with several posts during 2019. The only result has been people unfollowing me, and 3/6
I& #39;m not surprised that several people came out this year with the extremely toxic and discouraging "asking for tags is censorship" discourse. So I was pretty amazed when @drnucleus listened to me with extreme patience and simply commented with "Okay! I& #39;ll tag everything!" 4/6
I still have to read her story because I& #39;m terrible with reading fics (I& #39;m sure I& #39;m the reylo that reads less), but knowing that I can do it without worry or compulsively doing CTRL+F "pregn" at every chapter makes me really eager to finally read it. 5/6
In conclusion, listen to people when they expose themselves and reveal their triggers to you. Tagging costs 0 cents and it even helps you reach a wider public, especially if you write kink or darkfic. 6/6
