Still trying to understand why Christian parents send kids to youth ministry in 2020. I have great data that explains that, for boys, it is the exact *opposite* of what they need grades 6-12. They need SEVERAL YEARS of training by fathers & older guys. https://www.amazon.com/Raising-Boys-Third-Different-Well-Balanced/dp/1607746026/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=raising+boys&qid=1597321320&sr=8-4 https://twitter.com/apixelpusher/status/1288300501352751104
Not “family integrated,” blah, blah but what boys need grades 6-12 is time away from peers to be formed & prepped for adulthood by their fathers & men their father’s age or older. But churches do the opposite. Why? Youth ministry doesn’t produce men. Dads, rescue your sons!
Why are we doing the opposite of what kids need? Why? https://twitter.com/drantbradley/status/1278371164960817152
I’ve been reading on this all summer and I can’t find a single book that says that boys grades 6-12 need anything close to youth ministry. Even boys from broken homes need one-on-one father figures! It’s not prepping boys for adulthood. I’m confused. https://www.amazon.com/Saving-Our-Sons-Raising-Resilient/dp/098399594X
