Harris’ parents came here, one from Jamaica and one from India, and despite America’s many flaws they succeeded here beyond what they could have achieved at home — the typical experience for new arrivals.

And their daughter is more successful still — also typical.

All things considered, America is a pretty good place which is why lots of people want to move here from all around the world.
