The tools I use - Mora 120, hook knife, selfmade axe, saw and sandpaper.
I begin with making a crank. I do so by doing a saw cut where the bowl starts and then I use my axe to chop down towards it.

Remember to not hold your thumb on your axe while chopping. Hold your hand like I do in the first picture, will be less harmful for your wrist and will be better cuts.
Then when im happy with that I draw out my spoon. After that I make two saw cuts in the side of the spoon. You can use an axe but I find it easier to do it with the saw. Then I just continue to carve out the spoon with my axe.
When I have cut down to the lines with my axe I proceed to remove material on the back of the spoon. After that I take out my carving knife and form it untill im happy with the shape.
Then I grab my hook knife and start to hollow out my bowl. After this I wrap the spoon in a piece of cloth and let it dry for a day or two, makes it easier to sand and fine carve becuase green wood is very stringy when its wet.

I always like to make some carvings on my spoons aswell, for this I just use my mora 120 and hold it close to the tip. It makes them more personal and makes them feel more alive
