I see the animal rights activist who pretend to be rewilders are busy, their anti livestock agenda hidden by a nebulous “wild nature” wishful thinking, flower fairy crap, they talk about insects, ignore high quality SSSI management, pretend rewilding which is abandonment in their

case is a “nature” answer. I dislike rye-grass, slurry monoculture as much as anybody. Intensive highly productive systems, they should face the true costs of pollution.

The fact is if we abandon our responsibility to manage habitats in a country of 70 million nature will not thrive, the last few tiny biodiverse sites will be lost. For sure ecological restoration, regeneration and change are needed. Be very aware an agenda exists to persuade

that conservation grazing is bad, that is a lie, without cattle & ponies, sheep on downs many species are doomed. We have damaged natural systems so profoundly that we must rebuild natural systems. In a crowded country with many economic and interest groups not ecologically

motivated that will be compromise based. That is reality, not a dream like feel good fantasy. If we want to restore nature it takes ecological knowledge and work. Some voices seem so in tune with nature, siren calls which are deeply misinformed, their agenda is destructive.

They differ little from the intensive farmer, plantation forester, game bird shoot proponent. They have no respect for complexity, no willingness to compromise, they are dogmatic, they will impose their vision, and do not care at what cost to ecology.
