The Importance of ROI! (Thread)

I thought it would be important to write a thread about ROI (Return on Investment) and the importance of it in betting. It’s a lengthy read but hopefully useful. (1/7)
Essentially ROI figures are the easiest and fairest way to evaluate success. To work our ROI it’s (Net Units Won / Units Staked)*100. This will give you the percentage. For examples say you stake 5 units and win 7 units. The calculation would be (2/5)*100 = 40% ROI (2/7)
It’s key to get ROI from tipsters as it levels the playing field when evaluating success. For example, the max unit I stake is 3. If you compare that to a tipster who stakes 8, 9, 10 units, then our unit return will be very different. (3/7)
Whilst the other tipster may win more units, they are also staking more units, so comparing us on that alone wouldn’t be fair or helpful. ROI levels this playing field, enabling you to compare tipsters. (4/7)
It’s easy to get drawn in by tipsters saying, “I’m up £3,000 this month.” Without knowing the ROI this claim means nothing. They may have staked £100,000 to win that £3,000, which isn’t a great return (3%) (5/7)
Ultimately, any positive ROI is good, but a quality tipster will usually have an ROI of above 10%. Anything above 20% is very impressive over a month. If they’re achieving this monthly, then they’re making long term profit. (6/7)
To finish I’d say it’s imperative you ask a tipster for their ROI, so you can evaluate their success. Any questions about anything on this thread then please just give me a shout! (7/7)
