Justin talks about how hard it can be to be away from the person you love but no matter how hard it is, love is strong enough to get us through; this song is personal to beliebers because it speaks about our relationship with Justin too

Justin talks about saving children, mostly talking about helping underprivileged children which he keeps doing in his charities and millions of dollars in donations but also children that are victims of sexual trafficking which is connected to Yummy music video

Justin talks about many wrongs happening in the world and feels guilty because he has the luxury of leaving food on his plate so he makes a vow to help those in need and pray for them. He lived up to his words as the song proceeds went to charity
• Changes

Justin talks about changes happening in his life and that life isn't just black or white but it varies on different days, but despite turning life around, doing new things, his dedication and heart always stay the same
• Yellow raincoat

Justin talks about a metaphorical raincoat that serves as a shield for him to put a facade and pretend everything is fine while inside he's hurting
• Down to earth

Justin talks how hard it was growing up in a broken home with separated parents who both seemed to put other things before their child on their priority list so he grew up feeling unwanted and not normal and he had no one to rely on

Justin talks about his absent father who was supposed to be his fatherly figure and help him figure out some stuff but he never was there for him

Justin talks about how his fans are the reason he is who he is right now and that he would be nowhere if there wasn't for our faith and support for him

Justin talks about what seems to be an alien, but is actually a metaphor which can be taken as a listener wishes (love, music etc.), in the end of the song Justin voices how human race is evil to one another and his alien friend (love, music, etc.) can help us

Justin talks about how he wants to spend his entire life with the person he loves, in highs and lows, but he needs that person to return the honesty he is offering to them

Justin talks about a relationship he's trying to keep and puts all his heart in but the person he's with fails to understand he struggles too and she left Justin so easily that Justin is heartbroken by how his love for that person is much bigger than hers

Justin talks about finally seeing what actual love is and how he's so commited to the person because she's the greatest thing ever to him, he reflects on his past sex addiction and how he learned to love while he was living in abstinence

Justin talks about how the person he loves is breaking is heart by leaving him and refusing to listen what he has to say, he talks how much it hurts him to the point he can't sleep, eat and live properly when added to all the hard things he's going through
