Guys, I know it& #39;s hard asking people to subscribe to read my stuff now. You know what else is hard? Retrenchment, which happened to me in 2017; happened to my media colleagues this year in the company.
You can still get free articles on Sport24 but your support is appreciatedhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙏🏾" title="Folded hands (durchschnittlich dunkler Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Folded hands (durchschnittlich dunkler Hautton)">
Yeah, I went two years without a full-time job, 3 if we don& #39;t count the year I spent roughing it out as an media marketing manager, which turned into an ad sales job. Without New Frame, http://Bet.co.za"> http://Bet.co.za , SA Rugby Mag, I& #39;d have gone under. No jokes.
Also, I was supporting my sister through high school and supporting an unemployed mother, who is still of working age. I have two unemployed brothers, both under 30. Should probably not be sharing this one here but this is the real cost of "free journalism", retrenchments.
And I& #39;m not trying to sell you subscriptions, those who can will subscribe. But I do assure I& #39;ll produce good quality, trusted journalism, like I have done by telling Aphiwe Dyantyi& #39;s story. It isn& #39;t easy to do that. Same applies to Sunday Times, M&G, all mags, newspapers, etc.
