Today I'm going to make a non-exhaustive list of people in the gaming / ttrpg world who are disabled and who you should follow. I am only mentioning people who mention their disability openly. Plenty of people don't wish to make that info public, and I'm not here to out them. So:
1) @Tyler_MoonSage. One of my absolute best friends in the #TTRPG world. Together we wrote the accessibility lesson for the @RPGWriterWrkshp, and we work together in @DOTSrpg. They are not only a wonderful person, but they've taught me SO much about screen readers.
2) @BlindTemple. Temple was one of the first people I reached out to when I was learning how to make my stuff accessible for screen reader users. He's wonderful, and often runs an AMA for 'ask a blind guy, no judgement' which is a huge amount of labour and a priceless resource.
3) @thesamwisest. Sam is a constant voice in the ttrpg world, who has done incredible work with @ChromatiChimera and @NoInitiativeTV. They're a wonderful person and do so much for the community.
4) @Imani_Barbarin. Imani is absolutely incredible, and while she's not in the ttrpg / gaming world, there is so much we can all learn from her. She speaks often on the intersection between being Black and disabled, and is constantly bringing awareness to a range of topics.
5) @mustangsart. Sara has been fielding a disgusting amount of ableism recently in the TTRPG community for her fantastic combat wheelchair. She's also the founder of @HwithoutLimits, and does disability consulting, so hire her to look over your work!
6) @stevenspohn. Steven is the COO of @AbleGamers, award winner, and all over incredible person in the gaming community. His work is influential and so important for bringing awareness and further accessibility to gaming.
7) @ianhamilton_. Ian is an accessibility specialist, and his feed is always full of incredibly useful, thought-provoking tweets and information regarding accessibility in gaming.
8) @ammourazz. Amr is a Neurodivergent TTRPG creator and designer, who's also working on @ChimeraRpg and who's spoken on @VoicesAt, @TheMusafirsPod, and @PlayTestPod. Their work can be found on itchio, and their twitter feed is one you need on your timeline!
9) @blkgirllostkeys. René also isn't in the TTRPG / gaming space, but her tweets on ADHD are absolutely essential, and she covers such a wide range of issues with input from the community she is a priceless resource for those wanting to learn about accessibility.
(Quick notes: I am doing this thread slowly, check back. If I have mentioned you here and you'd like to be removed, DM me and I will happily delete the tweet. I'm covering important voices outside ttrpg/gaming too, and those who aren't Neurotypical but not necessarily disabled.)
10) @thatjayjustice. Jay is a cosplayer, streamer, consultant, editor, and all round fantastic person. Her work is incredible and her content should be on your feed right now!
11) @victhhe. V.J. is a fantastic author and streamer, they're a best-selling author on the guild and he also manages the Sigil Entertainment Website. His work is brilliant and their feed is magnificent!
