Since I’m trending on Twitter, I feel I need to reply. My experiences are valid. Getting a scholarship *off my own merit* to Eton does not invalidate my material disadvantage, which has existed throughout my childhood. You won’t silence me.

I’ve been told in the last 12 hours that I “should be deported to India,” “my parents made a mistake having me” and that “Britain was wasting its money on a migrant.” That “it’s my fault I’m poor” and I “should be grateful to be in the UK.”

It really breaks my heart that I even have to write this in the first place. You have no right to discuss my life when you have no idea what I have been through.
