#AncientHistory at Leicester ( @ArchAncHistLeic) is framed around engagements with different types of evidence, with people who are passionate about the past. So what do we cover? #resultsday2020
We've got 2 'survey of history' modules that introduce you to the broad sweep & cultural intricacies of Greece and Rome. The emphasis is less on 'who did what when' and more on why any of that matters.
We'll also introduce you to different types of sources. You'll get a good grasp of traditional authors, but we'll also cover tombstone, coins, fragmentary papyri, oil lamps, graffiti - loads of stuff, that shows you where things were can be as important as what they say.
We also move beyond the boundaries of the classical Mediterranean, and introduce you to a more global 'ancient history' that incorporates perspectives from the Near East, Egypt, India and more!
If you want more details, or even want to know what we look and sound like, you can check out our 'Meet the Module' vids on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCimv9ZEf3jSuWCku9nYJFAw/featured
#resultsday2020 can be stressful. Whatever university you're applying to, talk to them. Every admission tutor I've ever known genuinely cares and wants to help. Obviously @ArchAncHistLeic is the best choice, but you'll have a fantastic experience no matter where you go.
