The financial assistance package of USD250million extended by India to the Maldives today will support the #Covid19 recovery efforts and help meet the Government's financing gap. Thank you India for this helping hand!

One-third of Maldivians traveling overseas - mostly for medical treatment - travel to India. Confident that the Air Bubble announced today, between Maldives & India – the first in South Asia - will ease travel, while maintaining the health standards!

Uninterrupted supply of essential commodities is important to enhance predictability &assure availability. Thank you India for renewing a larger quota for the import of essential commodities this year, and for also for ensuring uninterrupted supply during the #Covid19 pandemic

Happy to review the significant progress being achieved in the implementation of the several projects being considered for financing under the USD800 Million Line of Credit from India. Further efforts are needed to accelerate implementation!

The 9 projects under High Impact Project Scheme &19 projects under the Cash Grant of India, have enhanced lives and livelihoods, and empowered local communities. We look forward to financing more projects under these Schemes.

The cargo ferry service between Cochin-Kulhudhuffushi-Male, will also bring immense development to the north of the Maldives. Very encouraged with commitment of both Governments to move forward quickly on implementation of this project.
